Temp car insurance, post code query

My son us coming to stay tonight and is using our car to drive is from
Leicestershire to Durham tomorrow.
I was looking for 1 day car insurance but when I use his London address the price is double, yes double, the cost of using my home postcode.

Would it invalidate the insurance if I used my postcode, after all my car is registered here, my son is staying here and we are not going anywhere near London.

Advice appreciated thanks.

Have you tried adding him as a named driver to your existing policy?

Does he have his own car/car insurance? If so ask him to check to see if he has driving other cars on his policy. Means he can drive your car but will only be cover third part only in an accident so no cover for any damage to you car.

Stick him on your policy as a named driver, it will probably work out cheaper.
