I receive WTC and have solar panels which I receive a FiT for quarterly of approx £2,000.
They were installed in 2012, so I think this is the year they have paid for themselves.
Do I now need to declare this £2,000 on my Tax Credits renewal? I thought FiT was exempt, but I've googled and I can't find any information relating to what to do if you receive benefits and have solar panels.
Thanks.

If it's not subject to income tax - then probably not.
If subject to income tax - then declare.
I'd write to HMRC and ask them the question, also tell them if you have / haven't included it as miscellaneous income on your return. Keep a copy of your letter as confirmation that you sought guidance. No point in phoning as the call handler won't know, plus you need proof of seeking clarification.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
FIT income is not taxable; see s782a Income Tax (Trading and Other Income) Act 2005

As to benefits, someone claims to have received an email from the DWP that stated that;
If somebody gets actual income from these arrangements then they’ll need to declare it and it will be taken into account in any income-related benefits they receive .
