How much is too much?

I am in the process of receiving quotes for two conifers that need topping and basically trimming back. I have never had to look to get someone in before as my father in law has always done it- but he can’t anymore.

How much for two medium sized conifers should I be looking at for the work?
Any advice would be hugely grateful

    I've no idea, but it must depend and vary on the location, central London with limited access or small Devon town with open access for instance
