Vinyl flooring - small creases is that normal

We have just had a new vinyl flooring fitted in our bathroom (new bathroom currently being installed)
It looks good but there are some creases, when you touch them they don’t vouch back or anything it’s thoroughly stuck to the floor. The fitter said that writhin a day or so and with warmth from the house they will flatten. The dotted pattern makes it looks more obvious I think. They have fitted many carpets for us been for and alswsus been happy. Just a bit anxious about this one.

Unless you're talking about unevenness of the floor that the vinyl is laid on. If it's laid onto hardboard, and that isn't totally flat, then the vinyl on top won't be flat, either.

Yup, if the floor isn't flat and even, vinyl (off the roll) will show any humps & unevenness. If there had been a crease in the vinyl when it was fitted, then no amount of time and "warmth" will make it disappear. The crease should have been dealt with before it was stuck down.

Complain vociferously to the supplier and demand that they come back and refit/replace at their expense (assuming the fitter was contracted by the supplier you purchased from). If you paid by credit card, you could also raise a complaint with the CC company.

Communicate in writing - letter or e-mail - not verbally. This is so you have a clear paper trail of when you raised the issue with the company, and so you get their official response as to whether this is normal/ temporary or not.

What is underneath??

Our kitchen vinyl did this, so we made Tapi take it out and do it again. It then rose up a second time so we made them rip it out and got a full refund.

(An independent fitter then fitted the same flooring with no issues...)

If it's an air bubble they can make a small hole and release the air with a heavy duty hand roller. If the under boarding has buckled they will need to take the floor up!

We used IDS for our flooring and we've never had creases in our flooring so I'm we're always going to use them. I'm assuming that this isn't normal.

I would get in touch with them and ask for refitting or refund so you can get it done properly.

Tell them that's fine and you will be paying them in a day or so.

Just to update the following day it had almost all disappeared. It was very minor but still made me anxious. It’s now completely fine (as far as I can tell) the company are great and haven’t even invoiced us yet. Rest of the bathroom is still being fitted but I will keep an eye on it.
