Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off Holly, sorry you're not sleeping well, enjoy your time at the market.
Great news Gintot
taff pleased to hear your Dad is better, enjoy your weekend
Wet here today, so don't think we're going out. I don't mind too much as I can dash from one place to another but DH is a little slow. One bonus I won't have to water the garden.
Take care allIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
DD arrived before eight in her new company car which is a bit bigger and higher so it is easier to get baby in and out which is so much better for them. Baby has had a nappy change, breakfast and a bit of a play and is now having a 30 minute nap. (I hope).
I made me and DD some bacon and egg on toast and coffee and she is upstairs working on her laptop. The new fence is looking good and much safer as the old one was getting splintery and rickety.
I have bedding and towels that have just finished being washed but not sure if I should hang them outside or not.
DD is so grateful I have been able to have baby for the last few days she has bought a big bunch of flowers which are now in a vase. She insists she wants to "do" something for me and has offered to sort out my broadband which is expensive and keeps dropping connection. She practised her Scottish accent on me as she is going to say she is me - but sound either Irish or Welsh, bless her.
As today is annual fish and chip day we might treat ourselves to a small portion for lunch and I will be working round madam baby who is very alert and into everything. Just realised she is ten months today!!!
I think that the turmeric and black pepper capsules might be helping the knee pain so have looked up how to make my own golden paste and might try making that at the weekend. Baby is very quiet upstairs but I need to get her up in about ten minutes or she will not have a mid day nap. Boy do we appreciate it when she has her nap!!! I had forgotten that when you have a baby around weeing is a spectator sport and cups of tea are always cold etc. Not really complaining as we love her to bits but we certainly know we have got her.

Hugs to you both and I so sorry you were not appreciated for the things you do and the love and care you show. I really pray I do not turn into a cantankerous, ungrateful, nasty old biddy and have been trying hard not to give unasked for opinions and advice etc. What I want more than anything is to be a resource for DDs and a back up that encourages and appreciates them even if it is just making a meal. offering a spare bed now and again, a bit of babysitting or having parcels delivered etc.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Gers, dad had the "shot" type supplements as well, from memory they were over 100 cals in 30ml and he had two a day. He also had the larger shakes as well but found them difficult to get down. I had to convince him it was worthwhile and went through his diet with him explaining how he could eat 2,000 calories a day in order to regain his strength after his colon cancer op.
I went down to see Laura yesterday and pick up Ziggy. She has laryngitis but was feeling a bit better by the time I left. She just rang to say she felt much worse today and might not go to Majorca after all. I said I'd go down and get her but she doesn't want to pass it on to Steve so we shall have to see.0 -
Morning all
It's pouring down here today
. Storm Miguel apparently.
I couldn't get to sleep last night..... too many thoughts churning around. There will be no chance of an afternoon nana nap either as DGD is here today. She's a bit under the weather, but she still can't stop stuffing her face with food  ( nothing new there, she's following in her DB's footsteps :rotfl: )
I have stripped the bed but there is no chance of drying the bedding. I think I may wash it tonight and hope that the weather will be better tomorrow. I've also put the DW on and cleaned down the kitchen worktops.
Tea tonight will be bacon, sausage, black pudding and egg etc. quick and easy.
Hugs to anyone who is in need, for whatever reason.
Enjoy Friday if you can.
Take care

Thank you for your kind words Elona, I think a lot of people have difficult old parents.
Like yourself, I try to help in a practical way, and be supportive without being intrusive.
The family are always grateful though, for anything we do for them.
If I turn out like my Dad, one of them will probably shoot me!!0 -
I'm with you Scarlett. I've already given DD permission to do just that !Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0

Afternoon everyone,
It feels like this is the first moment I've had to post in over a week,DGD 7 has been staying here because her Nan who she stays with when her Mum is working nights, has gone on holiday & DS 2 is delighted to have her here of course.Luckily he and DH have finished the job at my DBs so it's made it a bit easier when we've had to pick up DGS too as they attend different schools at opposite ends of the town.
Have to set off in a minute to pick her up again.Unfortunately she didnt bring her PE bag with her so I had to go and buy new stuff on Wed ready for yesterday and then left it at home in the morning rush! We hurried back to pick it up again and I handed it in at the office, but when she came home she said they hadnt done PE and no-one had brought the bag to her so will have to check on that.
Chucking it down here. We're having halloumi fries for tea.DGS is meant to be at cricket after tea so I'm not sure if that will be on, given the weather.
Right, better be off - hope all is well with you,or as well as it can be xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Whilst doing DM's exercises with her this afternoon all of a sudden the words of 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' came into my head and then memories of doing Music and Movement at primary school.
All in the school hall in navy knickers or skirts tucked into ordinary knickers swaying like trees and curling up into stones! Seems that most primary schools were using this radio programme at the same time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ve-93G9h10 In the weeks before I start collecting my SP this memory was very unexpected and strong.
I need to DM moving around more, she's very good at getting out of bed, dressed and down to the front room where she plonks herself all day unless needing the loo.
The promised rain didn't appear, only high winds which are rocking the trees around. I didn't go out!
Thanks for all the tips about fortified drinks, so far the Ensure is enough. I think the others are even more fortified and used for more severely ill people.
I hope everyone has a good evening!0
