DSL Modem

Some help needed.
I've been running an Asus DSL AC88U for a couple of years on a Plusnet Fibre connection.
Having had it go faulty and the replacement die within 48 hours I've been looking at alternatives.
I'm struggling to find a router that supports VPN and MIMO (so many devices in house) with a built in modem so any suggestions?
If not any guides on the best way to set up a stand alone modem with the router I'm thinking using the asus BRT 828 but which modem to get?
Cheers

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Connections-UK-Archer-VR2800/dp/B06WD4RVL4 any good? I presume you're aware that MIMO routers aren't cheap...0

Many thanks, that one doesn't support the VPN functions I need.
I agree that they are not cheap but it's not money, I've a budget of £500 approx (if needed) it is the performance I need.
We have four smart TV , several networked NAS drives, print server, Alexa smart devices, and approx 13 other wifi connected devices. Home office and teenage kids!
The AC88U was a good servant but two failures close together I figured that I may be able to source something a bit more powerful and modern. The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…

What's stalling you is the supposed need for a built in modem. Best solution might be a standard ISP dsl router in bridge/modem mode and a decent separate router connected to it.0

Yeah I think you are right.
I recon its going to be a netgear dm200 (set up in bridge mode) the the Asus BRT -AC828

Stop dicking around with entry level consumer grade crap and use Ubiquiti wireless/router gear and use a standalone VDSL modem. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yes, you need a VDSL modem !0

Thanks all, order placed..
I've gone for a NETGEAR DM200-100EUS along with a ASUS RT-AX88U Wireless-AX6000. As it seems an upgrade on the AC88U I was using, so I know the UI and am confident on being able to manage it.
The Uniquiti gear is good, but will be above my price point, and fail the wife test. :beer:The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…
