Bath or shower, which is cheaper?

I'm trying to budget for a bathroom renovation but can't decide if we want a bath or just shower.
Bathroom is small, 1.7m x 2m, no children in household. I really like the idea of having a bath tub but OH said we rarely use it which is quite true in the last 12 month. Anyway, I'd like to find out the associate cost for each one please, perhaps it can help us in making a decision. What is the cheaper option (including installation), Bath with usual glass screen & shower mixer on wall or a big shower area with large glass door or panel?

Depends on if you are planning to move or stay
Bath with mixer shower if you are planning to move otherwise cost wise the shower is cheaper to install.1 -
I fit bathrooms for a living.
TBH there isn't a great deal of difference in cost between a 1700 x 700 bath and a similar sized shower tray. The shower enclosure will ad costs and there is a slightly larger area to tile with associated material and labour costs.
But respectfully, you are slightly naïve to base your decision on costs alone. You need to consider whats best for you, lifestyle, size of house etc.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.1
