Mattress Dispute

Options
Hi there,

I am looking for some help regarding a mattress I bought.

I have had a mattress delivered to my home that was damaged by the delivery men. It was a superking and they thought they couldn’t fit it up the stairs. They literally sat on it to bend it in half which has damaged the metal frame inside the mattress. I signed for it as I did not realise before the men left that they had damaged it as when it was put on my bed in all it’s plastic packaging it didn’t look affected.
I have contacted the company I bought it from and they are happy to either replace it or collect it for a full refund.
I would prefer to have full or part refund as a gesture of goodwill/compensation and keep the damaged mattress as the hassle of waiting in for delivery men, clearing my bedroom and hallway again and having the damaged mattress dragged downstairs and the new one taken up is too much for me.
However, the company will only offer a new mattress or collection of the mattress for a full refund. Either way it means upheaval.
Do I have any further rights to get what I want from a situation that was not my fault at all?

As they're well within their rights to do.

No, they're fulfilling their obligations, they don't have to do what you want.

You want a refund and keep the damaged mattress? I don't think that's going to happen.

if they are going to collect for refund you could always ask them how much it would cost to purchase the damaged mattress from them.
If you are considering keeping/using it I assume it cannot be that bad so you may get a 10% discount or similar
