  • Hi All,

I thinK the OP says there is no mention of HDMI on the Aldi one.

Most PVR/DVRs only record internally to the hard drive straight from the internal tuners, but this one appears to have a Firewire input for camcorders to record onto both the hard drive and DVD.
The scart will presumably record onto at least the DVD. We'll only really find out after Sunday I suppose.

I highly recommend the HUMAX 9200. Only got it last week but love it so much I ordered another - managed to get them for £149.99 at Comet!
They tested it on The Gadget Show last night and the presenter said it has one of the best Freeview pictures he's seen.
Only thing is, he said it does series record???? Erm, mine doesn't!
 Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

The Humax 9200 came top out of 3 reviewed on Gadget show last night. This wasnt reviewed. But both reviewers agreed the Humax 9200 had a better picture than the other 3.

I arent aware of any pvrs that will record from input

There are some where you can record to inbuilt dvd recorder and the Humax and I am sure some others can take a pvr output to dvd but not the other way around.

Argos have some hdmi freeview recorders in catalogue but there never on sale

I would really like one of these Humax PVRs, but the price is both £179.99 at Comet and John Lewis.

Anyone know how I could get it cheaper?

    Cheers

  • would not touch a tevion freeview with a barge pole.
I do have the Humax 9000tb, it is good on par with the Topfield I had but the EPG is so slow, a real pain at times. Also its missing ends of programs all the time and beginings. It does not have series record as yet but its on the cards, due any month now.
I wanted to watch the gadget show last night as the Humax was on it, switched the pvr on as the show started I hit the instant record button as the epg had not populated and went away. Came back to watch it and even though the show was on it, it only recorded the first minute as it assumed it was still 5 news so missed it.

I set the autopadding on Humax so it always overruns. It is annoying when programs start late though. I usually get the program occasions miss credits

BTW the end of Gadget show showed the lady presenter undress in background you could see her top part just a little
