Your Opinion Needed - Renting with a Guarantor

Hi All,

Just wondering your opinions on renting to people (like ourselves) who have bad credit but have a guarantor are. Will it limit our option, could some landlords simply refuse (if so is it common).

Me and my Partner both have CCJ's (mine being paid off slowly and hers not so sure) and are looking to rent a new property in a new location, somewhere a little more cost effective considering where we work and kids go to school. We are wondering if we will have limited options to rent or if there is anything we can do in the short term (we have two months before we move) to better our position for a move.

It is worth noting that the Guarantor earns more than enough for the value of house we are looking to rent and is happy to do so, we have not missed a rental payment in our 2 year stay in the last property and have not missed payments on any of our other bills either.

Thasnk you for any help or insight that can be offered.

Whether they actually will is likely to depend on their acceptable level of risk

But that doesn't mean you wont be able to rent somewhere, just that it may take longer

But neither LL nor letting agent see your credit history.

Just apply and see what happens to be honest; as long as you're upfront about it, they will either say yes or no.
