We booked directly with Singapore Airlines, which charged the flights in Swedish Krone, so having a Halifax Clarity card (or similar) will save you the Forex charges. Some OTA's were also selling the flights slightly cheaper, but not by enough to make adding a 3rd party an attractive proposition.
SA are currently selling flights upto Boxing Day on the route and December flights are coming in at about £1875 (23151 SEK).
Depending where you are in the country and if you have enough time to add the positioning flights, I'd thouroughly recommend the routing & SIA.
I'd very happily do the entire trip again tomorrow !
Thank you, very helpful. We’re not planning on going until November so this could well be an option. It seems a lot cheaper than any of the other routes.0 -

The 23151SEK/£1870 fare looks like its available for various Nov & Dec dates, so Happy Days
Don't forget to add the cost of your positioning flights and a hotel night before flying (the Raddisson Blu, Arlanda Airport worked very well for us. I quick mooch will find some good rates)0 -
We’ve done a similar thing to Murphy-T for our trip to Australia later this year.
We’re routed LHR-ARN on BA with an overnight stay - cost for two with Club Europe seats & hotel approx £400 which include using Avios as part payment for the flights.
We then go ARN-CPH-SIN-SYD return for just over £2k each in business class on Singapore Airlines, so all told, we’re about £4.5k which although not really money saving in some respects, it is when we compared the cost of the same flights LHR-SYD return in business on Singapore Airlines, which is a fabulous way to travel long haul if affordable.
*edited to add that travelling BC helps enormously with jet lag for us as we both get a really good sleep, which benefits us hugely, particularly on the return trip to the UK.0
