Work in Germany, home office in England - tax?

I will be starting a job in Nuremberg, Germany in July. I will live full time in Germany but occasionally visit the UK. On average, I will do home office from England 2 days per month. I have been told I have to file & pay both German and UK taxes.

Can anyone verify if this is correct? I can't get my head around having to file a UK tax return when I am working from home in the UK for 2 days a month, for a German company with a German contract. If a person goes on a business trip abroad for a couple of days they don't pay taxes in the country they were visiting, so how does this differ?

Any thoughts, advice, similar stories etc all very very welcomed!

You do not say of you will continue to be paid in the UK or if you will paid in Germany.

If you go on a business trip for 2 days a month you do not have a home in that country nor are present in the country for the required number of days to count a resident for tax purposes..

You need to establish if you are considered resident for tax purposes.

That will depend on circumstances.
