Seller not updated address on Ebay

Hi

I bought an item from a private seller (£200) and it arrived broken, so I requested a return on Ebay which he accepted.
Sent it back with tracking and it was rejected at the address Ebay gave me.
Emailed seller and he said that's his old address as he has since moved and he has given me his new address. Now my item is in limbo, tracking says 'in transit'.
Is there anything I can do? I assume sending to another address invalidates my buyer protection.

Phone ebay once it gets back to you to get their advice. I t's the seller's responsibility to update his address. Only communicate with the seller through eBay. Ebay will probably provide a label and charge him for it.

Did seller provide the return label through a SNAD case?

My OH opened a return request, reason was 'damaged item'

Good news. Your return request has been approved. The seller will provide you with a return postage label to send the item back.

The item was delivered to the address provided however it was rejected as seller had moved.
Now there is no sign of the item, it has not been returned to me as yet, it just says 'item in transit' on the tracking.

In that case phone ebay and explain that you have proof item was returned, and any loss is the sellers fault for supplying the wrong address. If the first CS rep doesn't understand phone back and try another.

I wouldn't leave it much longer though, you originally asked 4 days ago and time is important here - you need ebay to acknowledge this and deal with it before return case is closed in sellers favour.

Thanks so much Soolin, Ebay has issued a full refund.

Also tracking has updated now and apparently item is at the National Refund Centre ready for collection or re-delivery - wherever that is??
