Balance Transfer from Amex to Natwest not working

I have just tried to apply for the current MSE recommended Natwest 0% BT no fee card. Having been accepted and trying to enter 2 cards to tranfser, I hit a glitch

Transfer from a Barclaycard ... no probs
Transfer from an AMEX .. not possible as the card has 15 digits but the site only accepts 16 digits.

Called them up and they don't seem that bothered. They advised that I contact Amex but they can't do anything.

I managed to fudge the number by adding a 0 at the start just to complete the application ... lets see what happens but quite annoyed now as that was the balance I really needed to transfer.

Tempted to try another card but worried I'm going to hit the same hurdle again.

Any thought or experience from someone who has successfully managed to BT from Amex to Natwest?

It rarely works, because of the 15 digit issue.

A money transfer is probably the best workaround.

Had to do it over the phone which worked perfectly.

Nice, Just another quick question, did it work wit just the15 digit number or did you have to add the 0?

From what I can remember, I added a 0 to get 16 digits in for the application. I phoned them afterwards and they did it manually and allowed a 15 digit card number to be used.
