Tv can’t be fixed under warranty

Hi All,
Three and a half years ago I brought an expensive tv that had a six year warranty. Two months ago a fault occurred and so I contacted Panasonic through the seller. In short Panasonic replied to say they don’t have the part required anymore and instead can offer me a replacement tv. The tv on offer is an inferior tv in spec and reviews compared to my current tv. So I’ve rejected this replacement. Panasonic have now said that’s all that’s on offer. What are my rights? Surely I don’t have to accept an inferior product, it’s Panasonic’s duty to fix the tv as there is a warranty. Am I entitled to a FULL refund?
Thanks
Craig

If the terms of the warranty say they can exchange with an inferior product then that's what they can do, if you don't want to accept that you can go back to the retailer to see if they may offer a more preferable exchange. If no exchange would be suitable you can pursue the retailer for a refund but as it is a three and a half year old unit you are not entitled to a full refund, only partial, and after that length of time it will be well below 50% of what you originally paid for it.0

Exactly. I suspect the replacement they’ve suggested is of a similar value to the value of your three and half year old TV. I think it’s take it or leave it.0

It may be worth asking if they'll offer you a discount equal to the depreciated value against a higher cost TV.0

If any refund was due it would be from the retailer due to a fault but would take account of 3 and a half years of usage and be reduced.
Panasonic are offering a warranty and have to offer what it states in the terms of that warranty which is very likely they will offer another TV if they can't repair the existing.
Might be worth finding a TV you like (that is sold by Panasonic) and asking them if they will accept a payment for the difference their cost of that TV minus their cost of the TV they are offering you.
No harm in asking, they can only say no.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Important question, which retailer did you purchase from and was it their own warranty or the manufacturer's?0
