Rescuemycar - Rescue My Car Breakdown Cover

Hi,
I'm looking for a full car breakdown service, home start, recovery etc and this company appear very competitive but I want some real reviews from people who have actually had to call them out.

https://www.rescuemycar.com

I'm not expecting my car to break down but want to be covered in case it does.

Any help, comments will be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Bump!

I need comprehensive cover for my (newish/reliable) car. These guys came up on comparethemarket and are very reasonably priced.

I can see some old threads with mixed reviews (some not very good at all) but nothing very recent.

Does anyone here currently use them and has had to call them out?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
  • I use them for mine and the wife's cars.
They use a network of local garages, they don't have their own branded vans (like the AA) so I guess that may effect service levels?

I've had one reason to call them out in 3 years, my alternator died.
They came and low loaded the car to a garage of my choice, but wouldn't then take me home.
I had the choice of either go home with a dead car (they wouldn't then come back and  low load it to a garage) or take it to a garage out of hours and be left there.
I chose the latter, a friends garage, who then gave me a lift home.
For the money I pay, I didn't grumble.

  • I've used them since 2016, I had a dodgy car back then, they've been reliable and cheap (I had to pay 40£ each time someone came to get my car)! Haven't needed to use them since I changed to better cars, but I've paid something like 30£ this year and I don't htink I'd have to pay a fee if my car breaks down!
  • Thanks folks.

Decided to go with them - it was only £25 for the year, including national cover and home start, and that's with no call out charge.

Fingers crossed I won't need to use them anyway!

This doesn't make much sense, unless you're saying that only the first recovery of a specific car is covered.
