Insurance for modern roofs.

Insurers have just not kept up with modern times. Flat roofs with rubber, glass, copper, tin, or in my case PVC, are becoming more and more common, especially on sun room extensions.
Yet, as is my case, the insurance premium is 3 x times more (if you can even get it) than a pitched roof.
Our particular product is Sika-Trocal, a PVC membrane. If anything this product should reduce premiums because of its long lasting quality, but yet most insurers websites don't acknowledge this any other type of material other than tiles, slates or felt/tar.
Has anyone found an insurer who doesn't get the arm in when it come to insuring homes with a "more than 50%" flat roof?

Google insurance for homes with flat roofs to find specialist flat roof insurers0

Or go to a good independent broker who should be able to find cover. This happened to me when my roof (cedar tiles) was suddenly deemed non-standard and not covered by mainstream insurers after having had no problem finding cover in previous years, I can't remember who the broker eventually found but I do remember that NFU Mutual would cover it at a high price.0

I've done both those things, but cheapest insurance is around £600, as opposed to £200 when the roof was deemed built with Standard materials. Unfortunately that company has gone out of business. Brokers and online are pretty much the same here.0
