How deep is a kitchen base unit at plinth level?

This may be a silly question - but how deep is a kitchen base unit at plinth level?

I've been redoing my kitchen to get it ready for being fitted. Fitted skirting just where it is needed, or so I thought, based on the units being 560 mm deep. But now I've realised the cabinets may be shallower at plinth level and the skirting board not long enough...

If its white just patch in and use filler, it may depend on the company but my guess would be 3 to 5 cm.

Go long and let them scribe to it.

I don't mean the plinth itself, I mean the distance from the wall at the back of the unit to the front of the plinth. I have a galley type kitchen so there will only be about 500mm of wall exposed at each end next to the base units. I fitted enough skirting to go under the unit a few cm, based on it being 560 mm deep, but now I've remembered the plinth may be further back than the front of the unit.

It will depend on your kitchen manufacturer. The plinth usually clips on the front of the front legs.

On mine the front edge of the plinth is 55mm back from the front edge of the carcase (without door).

if its 55mm as above then It would be around 505mm deep then.

Only way to know would be to ask them, or look up the cabinets they will use.

Thanks. Looks as though I'll have to get another length and paint and replace it!

They may have to scribe to the wall or it may not be able to clip on with the skirting in the way.

Just let them install it or do it after.

Or use a spare piece of plinth and turn it along the wall to align with the front of the cabinets

I presumed the skirting should go on first and the plinth notched, otherwise the plinth would be trapped behind the skirting and hard to remove. The skirting is a plain rectangular section so the plinth would only need a simple corner cut out.
