DCBL chasing an old ppi fee

Hi I’m looking for some advice.
My mum has had a letter from DCBL regarding a £900 bill she had from a ppi company about 3 years ago.
It says it needs to be paid in 14 days or the case will be reviewed for legal recovery and such costs will be added.
It also says on the back this case is not subject to high court or bailiff action.
Mum is a pensioner so doesn’t have £900. Obviously I don’t want this to go to court or bailiffs turning up but she does owe this fee.
Any advice would be appreciated

Agree a repayment plan with them.0

Either don’t pay it and risk court action, or set up a payment plan that’s affordable, no other advice to give.
DCBL are acting as debt collectors and not bailiffs on this occasion.
Is there a questionnaire type letter to return within 30 days ?
If so it’s a letter before action, so they are serious.
If not, may be a bluff, no way to tell 100%.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Could somebody explain how a ppi icompany can send out a £900 bill? For what?0

It's their fee for posting a PPI complaint form on someone's behalf.0

No questionnaire sent. I might ring them for mum and set up a payment plan0
