in Credit cards
i wish to purchase something from some one on a forum, we agreed a price and also to pay half up front and the rest when goods arrive, he has good feedback and sold similar items before. however i wanted some extra protection so if i pay using money transfer on my credit card (o% offer) do i qualify for chapter 75 protection if things go wrong.

No, you wouldn't benefit from section 75 protection if things go wrong, you'd need to actually pay directly with your credit card (and comply with various other conditions) in order to achieve this.0

ok thanks for prompt reply0

No. It would need to be a direct purchase.0

Hi, when I buy things from someone I don't know, I use a service called escrow. They will charge you a fee, but you will have peace of mind.0

You probably know this and it may not be relevant anyway but you could ask if you could pay by PayPal as at least you get some protection that way not as good as section 75 of course but better than nothing
I would avoid bank transfer money to a stranger unless you are prepared to lose it0
