Multi-coloured roses

Driving to work, I've seen a couple of houses with roses that look as if they have red and yellow roses on the same plant (and some blooms red/yellow mixed). Does anybody know what they are likely to be?

Sounds as if each bloom starts out yellow and turns red over time. The ones I passed look really full of flowers at the moment.

It could be a couple of roses grown close together giving rise to different colours, or, it could just be the nature of a rose's blooms/flowers.


As the bloom develops it'll be one shade/colour, then throughout it's age/cycle it will change shades quite a lot.


A yellow bud could be a soft shade of apricot by the time it eventually drops all its petals.


Similarly, a red bud could be a soft pink by the time it's dropping.

Looking at them again on my way home (after googling from Mojisola's post) I'm pretty sure they are Masquarade - according to the article I found the buds are yellow and go through pink into red as they open.

Seriously thinking of buying one - they obviously suit our area, and seem really prolific.
