SSE just doubled DD based on estimated usage

Hi, we are two people living in a small two bed flat and I think your new figures are fairly accurate and also very cheap. You'll have been given a 'projected' figure, rather than an estimated figure, for the next twelve months. I switched to bulb last January after having been told that I needed to pay only £49 for both! What a bargain. Then after three months, they doubled that figure. Martin Lewis recommended bulb but I don't think that anyone should recommend that people switch energy companies because to be honest the costs usually end up the same, whichever supplier you end up with. I'd not switch again and once I've paid off the bulb bill in full I will be switching, and then staying with whoever I've switched to. I'm now in debt (or debit, whatevs) to bulb and feel they have not been fair and honest. And also, they made a real mess of my statements last year which ended up with me being so confused, and them being extremely inefficient. I think your figures are accurate. And quite fair. Certainly when compared to my own, anyway, living in a similar property (and our fridge freezer is over ten years old and very noisy too!)Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Switching is perfectly sensible as long as you use your actual consumption data and not a guess. If you put made up figures into a comparison site you'll get "savings" that match the made up figures but might bear no resemblance to reality.
I've just saved £450 by switching gas and £65 by switching electricity. Real savings based on actual consumption and double checked using a spreadsheet. I would have been mad not to switch?0
