  • Oh...forgot to mention, this card has previously been over £8000 in debt,
which I paid in cash!!!! This makes their decision even more strange.

Credit Crunch.....this week I forgot to pay a £16 payment to MINT.
Its the first time I have missed a payment. My credit limit beofre
the late payment was £10000. I have just received a letter to say
my credit limit has been reduced to £500....I am not joking....
Well, fortunately this is not my sole card and it will not effect me.
The £500 limit is what I had on the card as debt, so basically after
missing one payment, for which I will be charged, MINT are saying
we no longer want your business. The feeling is mutal.

Ouch, thankfully, as you say, it wont affect you. I'd complain anyway.
My limit was up at £13,000 and I asked for it to be reduced to £5,500 they couldn't understand why I wanted to reduce it. Thankfully there are no more automatic increases on it.

(this is all my debt - no mortgage).

Mortgage paid off or not a homeowner? Credit history is only part of the lender's credit score and there are other important factors including home ownership.
