Letting Agency Fee's after the ban date confusion

Hi all,
The new letting agency fee ban has come into place BUT there is some confusion that I haven't been able to find out from the .gov website.
My partner and I are moving into our new property on the 8th of July, through an agent. We were charged £300 for our referencing and credit checks on the 20th of May, and were approved and told the house is ours on the 24th... Fantastic news for us.
The agent said she would send over the "tenancy agreement and other important documents" 2 weeks before the moving in date as we need to sign before we are given the keys.
My question is, since our tenancy starts after the 1st June (fee ban date), should we pursue a refund/partial refund from the agents?
What does the law state on this issue, as I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering.

You're not the only one wondering, it's already been answered in at least 2 other threads, and the answer is no, you can't have a refund. What you should have done to avoid fees was not agree anything until 1st June.0
