Belfin, refuse any costs they send your way, dont pay a penny towards your smart meter install.
The adaptor is around 3 quid and available to other suppliers.
Just say no to any work mate, unless SSE cover the cost.0 -
You need to read the ENA document. GER 1...reference 18 in this instance. Its written in conjunction with these, don’t let them lie to you or pass it back to other pole pole due to their lack of knowledge. In this it says a yellow handled ECV is probably fitted on an IGT site and it’s fine. They need an adaptor. Same with an old style ecv, they need a Liverpool fitting to go on top and it’s sorted. The only ecv they needs exchanging is a ‘thumb turn’ or butterfly ecv..the rest are fine.
There is a lot of meter fitters out there who have no clue what they’re doing. I experience these every day. It’s a debacle. Below is the link to the document and tells you what they have to do! Even though they try to back heel them. Don’t let them get away with it

But then a Liverpool Fitting isn't the right one either :-/
An adaptor is required, as I have previously stated, it also has nothing to do with the colour of the handle. The information is on page 52 of the document you linked.0 -

I’m aware of this. I didn’t say it was the fitting needed. I said issues also arise when a Liverpool fitting is needed.
I said, like yourself, an adaptor is needed. Reference 18, the exact fitting is shown here.
And it clearly has got something to do with the colour of the handle....reference 18 says ‘Yellow handle ECV Igt LP Sites’
Exactly the same as what the OP has got, and is enquiring about.
Page 52 talks about Medium Pressure ECV’s...the OP doesn’t have a medium pressure ECV so page 52 is not relevant.0 -
ok sure, I guess im just talking out of my !!!! then0

It does seem that way.
Give me some information to the contrary?
You’re referencing a page with something that the op has not got!
I’ve told you what part of the document it is, even shown you a picture which matches the OP’s picture.
And I’ll say it again. The OP doesn’t have a medium pressure ECV0 -
The original poster does have a medium pressure ecv, it just isn't a medium pressure supply.
The type of connection from ecv to anaconda is a male ecv to a female anaconda, so the fitting in reference 18 doesn't fit as its a male to male fitting. The way the seal is created through the ecv and anaconda is that of a medium pressure type.
I reference page 52, as it clearly states that:A number of Medium Pressure ECVs were installed for Low Pressure applications on a small
number of iGT networks in the late 1990s and early 2000s. When installed they complied with
the industry standards of the day. Should a MAM/meter installer require to exchange a LP meter
and encounter an ECV rated for MP, suppliers and installers need to carry the appropriate
adaptors to allow them to make connections to these ECVs
Belfin hasn't offered any images or references to a yellow handled ecv, only that an IGT site needs an adaptor, which I am assuming is the same type as RozJCs0 -
Maybe it is...
I can't be bothered with all the back and forth with their clueless phone operators, so I'll leave it for a bit and maybe call up again later down the line.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
