Bulb price comparisons

i note that the daily standing charges and prices for both gas and electricity /kWh on the price comparison MSE website are not in line with the actual charges i am paying. Consequently the price comparisons are invalid. All other details of the Bulb account are correct. Does anyone know a way to amend the values to reflect the correct charges on the website so that the price comparisons are valid ?

All tariffs indicated on the MSE CEC should include the VAT. Which supply region do you suggest it is missing from?
  • he VAT was not missing from the MSE calculations but was not shown on the BULB statement

Ukpower/Uswitch do exactly the same and show suppliers kwh prices minus the 5% VAT..Maybe all comp sites work like, that but it would be better if they displayed full price with VAT..Daily standing charges should not vary.
.Uswitch do total the full price inc VAT and dual fuel discounts when showing the yearly cost of someones estimated yearly Kwh usage..

Ah, right. Good to hear the MSE are quoting the correct prices so that the comparisons are valid :) :money:

Imagine the problems that could be caused if you were able to update the prices on the MSE CEC yourself

Bulb charge (and display on their statements) VAT; the price per unit and standing charge are quoted ex-VAT, total is calculated, then VAT is added. Lots of suppliers calculate and display It this way. No need to go HMRC on them...
