Yes, £6k is better than £5k and "maybe" it matters if you are paying to enter but I really can't see it making a difference to anybody from MSE entering for free.

To the respondents below (I don't want to add another post, just an explanation. I am already conflicted by the irony of posting my OP):

Nobody actually said this, it was a response to all of the pointless posts that people add. The amount is crucial for some of the other radio comps but does not matter for this one.
Same for site down posts. If a site is down it could just be for your device, your browser or OS or it could be for everyone. Whatever the reason, it is unlikely that anybody on here can do anything that you cannot. It is also pretty unlikely that anyone will just accept that it is not working and not check the link themselves.
