Can anyone answer this about the asda card?

Hi all, I'm considering applying for an asda credit card and liked the sound of this bit on their website:

• Earn points and get money-off vouchers
  
  Everywhere you use your ASDA Credit Card, you earn points (on the first £6,000 of spend each year). These are then converted into money-off vouchers to spend at ASDA. Each year, your vouchers will be posted to you in time for Christmas.

But it doesn't say anywhere what the value of the points is, e.g 1 point per pound spent. Nor does it say what the conversion rate will be, eg 500 points = £5 voucher. Is it worth having? For all I know it might be £10,000 spent = £1 voucher.

It just says terms apply and will be sent with the card.

Does anyone know the ratios/values of this? the small print doesn't cover it at all.

Off the top of my head I think its 0.5% of purchase value:-

ie. not worth it purely for the cashback although you need to take into aco!!!! if the:
2p off per liter of fuel (not eligible for 'voucher points')
5% off at Asda Living or George stand-alone stores
is of value to you.

Just to add if you use the 5% off at standalone Asda Living (not tried it at George), it needs to go through as a manual adjustment on the till so you need to make sure the cashier knows you are using the card (unlike petrol pumps that automatically adjust)

The points (due to be paid soon, BTW) are "better than a slap with a wet fish", but not worth applying for the card for. OTOH, the petrol discount (approx. 2%) is, and ASDA's petrol prices are usually very competitive to start with.
