Hi, i really don't know what else to do about these people. I have emailed them asking for a full list of charges. Their reply was they could not send these as the account was with a debt collector
. I paid the account in full on 4th October and my cheque was cashed.
Friday I recieve a letter from the Debt people saying that because i have ignored their previous letter they have put a £15 charge onto my account and i need to pay today or they will send the baliffs round.
What can I do about this, I paid the full amount off the account and I haven't heard from these debt people until Friday. Do I just pay them to get rid of them or is there anything else I can do
Many thanks.

You need to make this request by letter under the Data Protection Act. Please see the reclaim guide for credit cards for the template. It doesn't matter whether the debt has been passed, they should still provide this information when approached in this way.I paid the account in full on 4th October and my cheque was cashed.

This is a seperate matter. You need to speak to the debt company and prove the account was paid on time.
You should also inform them the debt is under dispute and should be referred back to the catalogue company. They *should not* continue to pursue the debt until the matter is resolved.
Contact Gratton and let them know you are disputing the charges and they should get the debt back from the company they sold it to.0 -

Well Grattans 40 days are now up, they cashed the £10 cheque at the beginning of December but I have still recieved no statements
What is the next step, as they now have £10 of mine + the statements. Many thanks. Virgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0 -
There is another template letter to send when the 40 days are up. Go back to the 'reclaim 1,000s' icon and you'll find it. Good luck!

Charlie, I've just read the post from the beginning. If you've paid in full what charges are they trying to charge you for. Do they not agree that you've paid in full? Do you have receipt of payment?

I shall explain as best as I can because they have confused me with this as well. Basically the account is my boyfriends, he missed some payments as he lost work and he didn't tell me he was in difficulty. When i found out I made him contact Grattan and he paid the account in full by cheque (This included quite alot in charges), i wrote the cheque, and we thought that was the end of things.
We then had a letter from a debt agency saying the account had been passed over to them and we had to pay more. I think things are now cleared with them as I wrote to them with proof that it had been paid and we have heard nothing since.
I am now trying to claim back the charges, first Grattan said they cannot supply the information because the account is with a collection agency, i then sent the letter and the £10 cheque and they have cashed the cheque but we haven't recieved or heard anything else.
Hope I have explained well enough

As far as I know (and i don't really know about catalogues but CC's). The original lender has to send you that information - especially as they cashed your cheque. I would go back to my first post and write them the next template letter. Keep posting as I'm very interested to know what happens next.

Don't know if this would help but you can access your catalogue online now.
I'm pretty sure of that, most you can anyway.... log into your (boyfriends account) and just have a look what it says. There should be a 0 balance showing, it might give you a better idea what's going on,and at least you can prove you owe them nothing. Hope that helps, Good Luck
