New boiler installation issues.
Options
Hi All
I recently had a new combi boiler installed by a well known energy company. I previously had a warm air heating system and was having radiators installed with the new boiler.
Less than 12 hours after the new boiler was installed, the increased water pressure caused one of the pipes feeding the shower to become dislodged and resulted in a major water leak. My bathroom is located upstairs and the leak has soaked the ceiling below.
The company has denied liability and blamed the existing plumbing on causing the leak.
Do I have any grounds for complaint? I have been offered a goodwill payment which would not cover the cost of replacing the ceiling.

Assuming the boiler installer didn't touch the shower plumbing, and you converted from a vented hot water cylinder, leaks from the increased pressure are not unusual. They usually occur in pinholed radiators though.
If a shower connection blew apart it was faulty to begin with.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Do you have a written contract? Does it say anything about pre-existing parts or pre-existing pipework? There may be exclusions in the contract.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0
