Best credit card for car rentals and car rental insurance abroad

Hello,

We are travelling in the US and would like to rent a car. Can anyone recommend a credit card that offers good discounts on car rentals including car insurance? We want to have zero access.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'discounts' offered by a card. A couple of the 'travel' credit cards give 0.5% cashback on spending and will avoid your paying fees and exchange rate margins, you should have such cards anyway for your trip..:

Are you referring to zero excess on any insurance claim? If so, then it is normally most cost efficient to pay for your own third-party insurance...
