Fitting Windows Above Glass Conservatory Roof?

With access from back and one side the company wants to lay ladders on top of non load bearing new conservatory roof and i refused.
Need new windows directly above but can' t find a way of allowing them up without touching roof, even considered taking out conservatory panel just put ladder up etc.
It is a lean to about 18 ft long! Saw neighbours company use weird netting walkway bolted to wall but don't know what you would call that.

They'll need to bridge the span with some form of catwalk. A couple of scaffold towers should do it.

My parents have the same problem with the windows fitted above their lean-to conservatory.

The conservatory roof should take the weight of one person, if it is spread across the glazing bars, but I would not recommend that two people and the weight of the window being installed is put onto the conservatory roof. Supporthing the glazing bars with ACRO props is an option if the roof is flat, but not if it slopes.

You will need 2 x 7.3m scaffold beams between two towers, if you go down the scaffold route.

Removing a couple of glazing panels might allow two ladders and a staging platform to be erected on the ladders, but get the new window up will not be straightforward. Often the top of the glazing bars can be popped off and the panels just lifted out.

The netting might be called tensioned access platform netting. It will need to be installed by a specialist company.

Is is possible to do scaffolding in a diagonal way because on one side is the neighbours conservatory and the other my driveway so not sure where to put the other side for bridge.

They might need/be able to bridge across both you and your neighbour.

Otherwise, removing roof panels is the easiest solution.

Well this is what I would have thought. All windows are internally glazed now.


But getting the old ones out may be a problem is they are externally glazed.
