Help needed please!
How do I get the inside of a stainless steel microwave clean?
I have tried many different off the shelf cleaners but wondered if anyone has any other moneysaving ways?

I find that if you place a bowl of water with lemon in it in the microwave, and put it on, the steam generated eases the grime off the inside of the microwave making it easier to clean. Just repeat for really stubborn patches. A littel white vinegar in the water may also help - but may not smell as nice as the lemon slices!
hope this helpsr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I normally cut a lemon into quarters then put the pieces in a glass bowl of water.
Stick it in the microwave and blast it for about 5 mins on high (making sure bowl doesn't boil dry!).
The steam softens all the burnt on food bits, so you'll be able to wipe it down with a damp cloth. The lemon makes it smell fresh and gets rid of any nasty smells.Here I go again on my own....0 -
Unplug the m/w. Lay on the floor of it a damp (not sopping wet!) dishcloth or teatowel. Leave for about an hour. Remove. All the gunge will have softened. Wipe it away. Turn m/w gently onto its side - repeat. Easy peasy, no cost, effective!0

Its not money saving but for the price of £4 its worth it.
I use Oven pride in my combi microwave oven. its in a plastic bottle but i put it in a spray bottle, just spray leave a while ,wipe off and my microwave looks brand new0 -
This isn't money saving either but boy does it get it clean!!
Just do what my better half did;
Spray Mr Muscle oven cleaner all over the inside, thicker the better...
Turn microwave on full power until it catches fire...
Buy new microwave...
All clean...
Easy.
Btw don't try this at home!Mine needed a new fan so that must be whats wrong with yours:D0
