First PPI success

Having had a friend boast o receiving £7k but also having to pay a PPI reclaim company fees - thought I would see if I would have any success.
Quickly discounted using a PPI reclaim company and spent half a night filling in 13 different online enquiry forms (knew I had PPI but no idea who with) - this was 3 weeks ago.
This morning received my first cheque for £974.24 for PPI on a credit card I cancelled about 8 years ago.
Both Santander and HSBC want me ro send them loads of proof of id. Halifax Lloyds and Barclays want me to complete a more detailed claim form.
Use a PPI reclaim company? - no way. Do it yourself - few hours work - quids in :beer:
