Hi

I have a Vauxhall Astra and the horn has stopped working it has been looked at and been suggested it may be a faulty relay.

Does anyone know what I can expect to pay at a garage?

Thanks

Have you asked the garage in your other post:

    Or ask a VX dealer.

Yes they say my car is out of warranty and was not on the recall list and I would need to pay for a diagnostic test first. But they would not help with anything because of the time that has passed.

Ask the parts dept or ECP, GSF or many other motor parts suppliers or a scrap yard. Or go to a local independent garage or pay for a diagnostic. Relays are cheap but it maybe something expensive like the CIM.

have you checked to see if a fuse has blown ?

relay is about £10 and 2 mins to swap cheaper at a scrappy , personally i would get a relay and swap it see it it fixes it instead of paying a £60 diagnostic fee

99% chance you have many of the same relay in the car, swap the horn one with another one in a non - critical system. If horn works and other system doesn't then solution is simple.
