Malwarebytes WIndows Firewall control.

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has tried Malwarebytes windows firewall control.

I had zone alarm but was causing problems, I quite like the idea of a firewall asking for permission for program to access the net, but I understand windows firewall doesn't do this.

But it seems that Malwarebytes acquired the above company and this firewall add on is free from,

Anyone else tried it or have opinions?

thanks

I haven't used it, but... from the website, it looks like it just gives "easier" access to the built-in Windows firewall.

It’s been a few years since I used Binisoft Windows Firewall Control but it was fine as I recall.

Basically it appears to be a GUI/front end to simplify configuration of the built-in Windows Firewall, in particular outbound protection which Windows Firewall doesn’t block by default.

Personally, I still found it too complicated and much prefer the free version of Sphinx Windows 10 Firewall Control.

This acts in a similar way with Windows Firewall but is probably the easiest controllable inbound/outbound firewall I have used.

From the start it blocks all connections by default but with each alert simply tell it to block or allow, outbound and/or inbound (editable) and that’s all there is to it.
