Day trip Jersey to Saint Malo?

We are going to Jersey in a couple of weeks, staying in St Helier. I notice there is a day return ferry service to Saint Malo for about £34 per person.
At the French end, it looks like quite a walk to anything of interest. Anyone taken that ferry and have a view of if the trek is worthwhile?
Thanks

Saint Malo is lovely. The old town, inside the walls is probably what most people go to see for a day trip. You can walk around the top of the old city walls etc. It's only about a 15 minute walk from the Ferry Port.0

I'd agree. I don't know exactly where the Jersey ferry docks but from the Portsmouth ferry it's no distance at all.
As well as walking the walls, I've always enjoyed just sitting in the bars and restaurants and enjoying France. Certainly worth a day trip IMO.

It's about a 15 minute walk to the walled city.
Be aware - depending on how mobile you are, you have to walk up from the ship to the top of the ramp (you're on one side of a barrier and the cars are driving up next to you), depending on the tide (low or high) it can be a bit steep.
At the top, buses take you to the terminal.
Not huge amounts to do in the walled city - certainly no activities etc, but it's nice to wander around and sit with a cold one and watch the world go by.
Most of the restaurants have their menu on a board outside - don't worry about looking at it and moving on to another place (and even going back to where you first started!) The staff don't try and entice you in and are respectful that you may want to go elsewhere - they all do business.
Seafood is abundant but some places can be pricey for what you get - there are better places outside of St Malo for those but obviously you can't get to them if you're on foot on a day trip.
There is the Aquarium but that isn't really in walking distance - there are probably buses that can take you if you want to.
Supermarkets - again not in or by the walled city if you were thinking of stocking up on goodies cheaper - but there will be shops that you can buy things in aimed at more the tourist
It's a lovely little place to idle away a day and only an hour each way from Jersey and the ferry that does that route is more reliable than the UK/CI fast ferry

According to Google Maps its a different part of the port than the ferries from portsmouth, not far off though.0
