They've declined my invitation to cancel and discontinue the case "due to the stage it's at".

Is there any significance to this?

Other than the fact they're not discontinuing, there's nothing else I read into it.

As i understand it, the next step in the process is for the court to send me a Directions Questionnaire (form N180) which must be completed by the date given. How long woudl I expect before this is posted to me and how long do they give for it to be returned? The reason being I am going to be out of the country from next Tuesday for 2 weeks. Thanks.

I haven't missed it. I am trying to work out if/how I can delay having to do anything else but that form for 2 weeks. i.e if I wait for them to send it, how long will they "give me" until I need to return it and will this be likely to be after 24th July.

if I email the form today that will presumably accelerate the process somewhat and I don't want to miss court dates etc in the post while I am away. I have no idea of what the timescale is for these things, having never done one before.

could be weeks before the DQ is sent, then months before the court hearing date is set

just get the DQ done if you want to be sure, by emailing it on monday

so if I send it on Monday there is virtually no chance of a court hearing in July?

If so I will just fill it out and send on Monday as suggested. Thanks for your help.
