Was after some advice really cause at the moment I’m at a loss and fighting a losing battle.
Had my identity stolen and the person has applied for several credit cards, loans and mobile phones. All been reported to cifas, action fraud etc. I have contacted the Police as I have images cctv of the person but don’t seem interested. This has been going on for months now, where I’ll get notified that he’s taken out a new one. Now I’ve got a password set up on my credit file with experian. My credit file now has been severely impacted the entry will be removed but then few weeks later he will apply for another one so will bring my score down further.
I just seem to be at a loss now. My tenancy agreement ends in two months and I need to give notice, I wanted some advice if whether moving out would be the right thing to do as I’ll be at a new address so chances of him getting new credit will be slim cause he won’t know my new address? Seems a last resort but I’m thinking is this a wise move?

Maybe Cifas might be an option but do your research first, it may well impact your chances of getting credit or it might just slow the process.
How did they get your address ?
Do you shred any letters you get ?
Other posters with more advice will post.
Your score is only seen by you only, lenders etc see your score.
Are you seeing the entries on your credit file ?
Have you spoken to the relevant firms ?
What did the police actually say when you spoke to them, they didnt just shake head.
To be honest you havent really suffered a loss, its the finance firms who have lost out.
Have you spoken to the pcso who covers your area, he might have some advice, I say might as Ive never been in your situation.0 -
Yeah I’ve done all that Like I said. The police won’t treat it as a crime per se as it’s not serious enough0

You seem to move around a lot, which has resulted in post marked for you, going to an old address. This has caused someone to think like you and be you. I appreciate this is not good.
I would contact Police again. I would say its fraud, misrepresenting someone. Maybe another police officer would help you. As all things in life, call centres etc, try for another person and see where you get to.0 -

You say you have had your identity stolen and the thief has obtained credit cards, loans and mobile phones in your name.
How did the person manage to obtain all the necessary information to do this. Name, address, date of birth, bank details, employment details, residence details, salary details for a start.
How does the person manage to get their hands on credit cards which would be sent to you? You imply he is using your address so .... ?
How do they get the loans paid into a bank account which is not yours?
How can you possibly have cctv images of them in your possession?
What benefit do you imagine that putting a password on your Experian credit files will have?0
