Hello. Nationwide CC. Card arrives. Next day a letter saying the application seems unusual and they believe I have been a victim of impersonation. Also, that a CIFAS marker had be added to my record. Basically, there was a discrepancy in my address. I applied using a property address that I own outright, have lived in most of my life and still live at twice a week maybe. I get most of my important mail there. Nationwide have a different address for me on their system, ( the one my partner and I purchased less than a year ago). What can I do and will it affect any other cards/accounts I have? Amex for example. Thanks

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I have contacted them. I as per their request in the letter I emailed pics of my passport, DL and NatWest statement. All have said address on them. I even went into the branch where the person there scanned my DL.0

For myself it is not clear what the question actually is.0

So wait for NW’s response0

What address are you at on the electoral roll? If its not the one you're at maybe once or twice a week then it looks a bit suspicious when you're applying from that address, it's almost like you don't want to be associated with where your main residence is. There is no legitimate reason not to apply with the address you're on the electoral roll at.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I’ve only just joined the electoral role. I’ve joined at the address I applied at. I’ve never voted before and that’s my business why I don’t get involved in joke politics. Why would I apply for credit card from an address I’ve just bought with zero credit history and lived at less than a year? I own the other property outright. It’s not rented to anyone and has a long credit history of mine on. Nationwide put the CC on me telling me I’d been pre approved. I don’t need the card, I just want the cifas removed. Sorry I own more than a few properties, that’s just the way it goes. Thanks0

Whether you like it or not being on the electoral roll helps your credit profile. Nobody asked you vote. You apply from the address that is your main residence not which one that you think helps you get credit.0

Thanks. I understand. Yes, that’s why I now finally joined the electoral register. I’ve never had a problem before getting cards or mortgages though0
