Hi,
Wonder if anyone can shed some light on a weird !!!!!! situation. My housing association sent a snotty letter saying there is a bang coming from my flat everytime one of my neighbour walks past my front door. Now first off Ive had problems with him trying to kick my front door down before when he was !!!!ed which I reported to the police. They say this bang is a breach of the tenancy and its also been reported to the police and they have it on recordings.
My first question is can they evict for this "bang"? I have tried to search online but can only find eviction for rent arrears.
Secondly, i have no idea what this supposed bang is, how can they even prove if its done behind my closed flat door?! A recording doesnt show whats going on behind my closed door!
Hopefully someone can help

Welcome to MSE.

Do you have a housing officer/ support worker at the Housinb Association?
Who exactly has made a recording? Who exactly has reported this to the police? And what crime is alleged to have been committed?
If there is problem with noise this should have been reported to Environmental Health who would then investigate and probably mediate.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
If you are certain its not happening, I think you will have to ask for a copy of the recordings.
As its a shared ownership I'd be surprised if you could be evicted, but you have the documents for the property, we don't.0 -
Yes I have a contact there, Ironically its the same for the entire block and the person who wrote me the letter!
The neighbour in question is the one whos made the recording. No idea what crime has been commited as the police havent even spoken to me about it. According to the letter from the housing its anti social behaviour.
It seems there is nothing coming from environmental health. Its not a constant thing reading this letter, just one bang!
So confused and obviously I cant do anything until Monday when they open!0
