HSBC android app

Hi all,
I am extremely tempted by the £175 switch offer at the moment but I have concerns around the quality of the android app. Can anyone that banks with HSBC please comment on how they find the app and how it runs. I do all of my banking online and use it daily. I have heard that HSBC online banking takes forever to update card transactions, is this the case?
Any information will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I use the IOS app but presumably it's very similar to Android. To be honest the whole HSBC experience is pretty tortuous compared with the new banks such as Starling and Monzo, overall it's just not that intuitive or user friendly.
Perhaps set up a donor account for the switch incentive and see how you get on before switching your main account over.0 -
If you want a bank that has a good app then HSBC isn't it. I have HSBC and Barclays, and most of the time HSBC takes a good 5 days before updating what you have spent, whilst Barlcays tells you instantly.0

I haven't got an HSBC account but I had a First Direct account and I presume the apps are very similar with FD being part of HSBC. If so, you'll find that the HSBC app is like something out of the Dark Ages compared with most other banks.0

I used to have several HSBC accounts and one of the main reasons I no longer do was their bl**dy torturous app and online banking.
Starling and Halifax are currently my favourites.0 -

That's the main reason I left First Direct too. Over the phone they were second to none, but I don't want to ring my bank, I want to do my banking via an app or online, and First Direct simply weren't up to scratch.0
