How to haggle on new kitchen price

Hi,
I'm in the process of buying a new kitchen, i'm used to walking into shops and having everything with clear prices however I've discovered that kitchens dont seem to work that way. Every where I've been the sales people figure out what you need then they just give you a final figure and refuse to give an itemised list until after you've paid. I like to know how much i'm being charged for everything so i can shop around. I've been told by the sales people that "we can do a deal" but i dont really know how much to haggle over. I know i can look for appliances on line and price match that much is easy but does anybody have any advice on what sort of percentage these people can come down by on cabinets etc? I dont want haggle £20 when i could have got £500 off.

I've been to wickes, BnQ, I've even found Benchmarx (which looks the most promising). I've been quoted around £5000 for just the cabinets so far.

If you look at a couple of on-line kitchen sites that have fairly transparent pricing. you could price up the types of units you like, which would show you if your in-store quotes were reasonable. Try Ikea kitchens, https://www.unitsonline.co.uk/ and https://www.diy-kitchens.com/

Go to somewhere like Howdens and get them to design you a kitchen, then take it to DIYkitchens and get them to supply you it.

You need to do your homework on who will fit it also, no good spending all this time and effort into the cost of the kitchen and have a mate from the pub or a builder fit it.
When you decide on which shed will supply the kitchen don't sign straight away, leave it until they contact you they will reduce the price at least 5%.

I would think the starting point is 50% whatever they start at, and then knock it down further.

Then ask for free appliances.

Benchmarx do exactly the same kitchens as you find in Wickes, but usually at a much better price as they are the trade arm.

When I had a new kitchen Benchmarx gave the cheapest price for pretty much the same kitchen from B&Q, Howdens, Magnet & of course Wickes.

Get a quote from B and Q then take that to the other kitchen places as a benchmark to work from. Our kitchen was 12k from B and Q but we went to an independent place where the same from them would be 20k, they matched the first quote we had but added oak worktops too.
