I read Martin's article ( http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1081137796,10029, ) on the capital protected bonds. tried to visit there site but it doesnt seem to be working.
Some one gave me a copy of an advert in a newspaper, its an advert of Standard Life Bank, it has a similar deal to National Savings. "The first ever Capital Protected Bonds from Standard Life Bank. 5 Year Bond 115% of FTSE 100 growth, 3 Year Bond 100% of FTSE 100 growth."
I phoned up standard life and National Savings tday for more info, so its wait and see.
I would like to know what other people thing. Doesnt Standard Life seem better with 15%. I only got £1000. So any advise would be helpful.
Thanks

If it is the same as their "guaranteed bond" then the reason you can't find it is that they withdrew it on 1st Sept. See here.
I read Martin's article and it contains good information although I think he should have stressed even more the importance of getting a policy which is subject to Capital Gains Tax, NOT Income Tax.
While pretty much everybody uses up their Income Tax allowance hardly anyone uses up their Capital Gains allowance. Unless you fall into that minority I would suggest ignoring Martin's first choice and moving on to his second.0 -
Hmm, Reaper thanks for your reply. I phoned them earlier today and said I wanted info on there "Capital Protected Bond" she took the info and said theyll send it.
I guess ill wait and see, thats if it ever get to my adress via Royal mail.0
