help!

Hi, hope this is posted in the right place.
Basically my credit rating is horrendous at the moment, i have defaulted on a few payments and have a ccj from a couple of years ago. can i still open a new bank account?? if not a standard one, then could i transfer my graduate account to a new bank?? im with hsbc and was hoping to move, to possibly rbs as hsbc are a nightmare. if i cant transfer then i was just hoping to open a new account just to put money in (no overdraft necessary).

any ideas?
thanks x
