Dreams living Outdoors

I purchased the Monaco 8 piece rattan set Aug 2017. In Oct we wrapped it up for the winter. Summer 2018 we used it. Put it away again last winter. Got it out in April only to find the coated frame has rusted. Not only is it marking the decking, it obviously will deteriorate more over time & would be unsafe. Dreams Living refused to accept responsibility saying its out of warranty ( BTW, no actual warranty issued) They now won’t even reply to emails. We are trying to claim through our credit card provider but even they are asking us to pay for an independent report. Now it looks like we may have to go to the small claims court. So, my advice is DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. And if you are fortunate enough to receive your goods, keep an eye on it, because it is poorly made furniture.

If you do claim through the Small Claims Court you will still need to prove your case with a report from an appropriate independent person. You can add the cost of that report to the claim and you would need to win your case to have the cost of the report reimbursed at the discretion of the court.

The frame would only be unsafe if the rusting was bad enough to cause the metal to rot away. Have you any photos? has the frame for every piece rusted? Oxidisation is a funny process, sometimes it occurs where you wouldn't expect it to.

Yes, The OP has admitted elsewhere to having photos of this rusting.
I have suggested the photos are posted in this earlier thread the OP has started on this matter.

This would be better placed on the credit card forum. Hope I have made this clear and easy to read.
