DancingInTheRain wrote: »Morning all
No Dancing but plenty of Rain here today. Baby still poorly (teething and stomach bug) so not a lot of a sleep happening in our house at the moment.
Took advantage of being awake half the night and sorted through the kids toys. So the toys are now organised (until oldest comes home from nursery), broken toys in the bin, outgrown/unused toys bagged and taken to the charity shop.
Yesterdays spends have now cleared in my current account plus a DD went out today, left an untidy £1.46 so this has gone across to CC1.
Little one is having a nap (finally!!!), must get on with some jobs while there's a bit of peace!
Have a great day folks x
Morning Dancing.
Hope the little one feels better soon.
If you feel like you need more toy sorting feel free to come do my childs! haha that is a task I need to tackle today and I am certainly not looking forward to it :rotfl:
hope you have a good day1 -
Thanks for the offer Dan but no thanks :rotfl:
Little one is much better now but it's been a looooonnnnnngg day. Should have been a NSD but poorly baby and a tired & grumpy 3 year old who both refused to nap were bundled into the car at 2.30 and taken for a drive to calm us all down. Both boys fell asleep :T:T at which point I realised I hadn't eaten lunch and was starving so headed to the local MaccyD's drivethru (which I've probably only ever visited a handful of times in my life) and indulged in a burger & fries:o only £2.68 spent so could've been worse.
Here's hoping tonight's a quieter night, I'm sitting in bed now & reckon I'll be fast asleep soon.
Update on surveys:
Yougov - 1105/5000
OnePoll - £3.90/£25.00
Prolific - £4.60/£5.00 confirmed, £2.95 pending
Receipt Hog - 1269/1500
Shoppix - 675/32001 -

Glad to hear the little one is feeling better, it must have been a tiring day for all concerned. I guess when you are on the go and tired its easy just motor through the day without even considering food as you don't get a chance to stop. The spend was low though so thats a bonus.
Hope you manage to get some much needed rest.1 -
Hi DancingInTheRain,
Glad to see how positive you're being, even when things seem not so bright you're using your time wisely and being proactive. Something I can aspire to be myself more often. I like your idea regarding pushing over the pennies and pounds to get to zero's, I'll happily steal that idea from you if you don't mind.
Good luck, I'll be keeping subscribing to your thread to congratulate you when you hit the four figure goal!

Hello DancingInTheRain, just popping over for a nosey on your diary after you took the time to comment on mine - thanks again for that, I appreciate it
Congratulations on starting the diary and well done on getting off to such a great start - looks like you really have this nailed with planning, NSDs, surveys etc! I have no doubt you will smash this!Debt-free wannabe since Jan 2018.
Total debt: was £39,220.58, now £6,977.551 -
Thanks for your lovely comments guys, much appreciated. Slightly more sleep last night & remembered to eat so feeling more human today
Lightbulbtime feel free to steal that idea, it's one of the many amazing tips I picked up reading diaries here & is such a simple way of paying a few extra pounds to the debt. I'm looking forward to adding up my totals at the end of the month to see just how much extra this has generated.
Popped in to work today to say hi to my colleagues and get a bit of info on some changes in procedures that I need to get my head around ready for next month.
In debt busting news, had a survey approved on Prolific that tipped me over the £5 payout threshold so after fees that was £4.81 sent across to CC1 along with £10.00 from our loose change jar (anything less than 10p goes in here).
Take care all x1 -
Hi
Wow, such a positive diary and outlook. You're doing great and the NSD's are awesome. Especially with such young kids!
Fair play on the surveys. I just didn't have the patience to do them!
It also sounds like you and the hubby are on the same page. Splitting winnings on the family.and debts? Well played that man :T
You sound like you're all over this and have a plan and conviction to see this through in quick time.
Good luck :beer:Debts 14/6/2019 (LBM 5/3/2019)

Thanks PB
I think it's about time I put a bit of positivity back out to the world, we've had a really challenging & stressful couple of years with many changing circumstances for us (renovations, children, bereavement, redundancy) and I've definitely struggled mentally but the fog has definitely lifted recently so I need to run with this positive feeling as much as possible while it's here. One of the reasons it's taken me so long to start a diary is that everything felt so impossible but since starting I'm definitely feeling hopeful that we can do this.
It's true that hubby and I are on the same page in wanting to clear this debt which certainly makes life easier although, like many other diaries on here, it's me who takes the lead and as long as he doesn't feel too deprived he's happy to leave me to it. Also very useful that he's a subscriber to the 'happy wife, happy life' way of life! :rotfl::rotfl: I tend to give him an update each payday and that seems to be more than enough for him so it works for us.2 -
While it's in my head, managed another NSD today so now at 7/30 for June. Couple of spendy days coming up, I have a much needed hair appointment tomorrow (first one of the year, can't wait for all the greys to be obliterated!!!) then hubby is out for a meal with work colleagues. Saturday sees me out with my friends for lunch & a couple of cheeky drinks
which is quite rare these days as there's 6 of us & while we're really good friends who I'd be lost without, co-ordinating a free day for all of us is a constant struggle but will be good fun.
Need to make sure we pack a few fun things for the boys around this too, hopefully the weather will be on our side so we can get out & about but plenty of things we can do at home if not.1 -

I hear you. It's so difficult these days to organise anything with friends, what with kids and different shift patterns and what not. I can go for months without seeing anyone for a drink or a meal (other than the family I mean :rotfl:). Being a grown up can be hard! :rotfl:Debts 14/6/2019 (LBM 5/3/2019)
