    Simon the problem is that determining what will do well in future is not as simple as looking at the past and saying "cor blimey I'll have some of that action".

    The reason many of us go mostly passive (there are always some decisions) is because we know that active strategy performance is never sustainable as markets change and new money gets pumped into yesterday's winners. We also know the odds are stacked against us in finding tomorrow's winners and then getting out at the right time. It's not impossible but it is higher risk not just in volatility profile but you take a higher chance of ending up with less at the end.
