You already know from your previous posts why trading is advised against, so I will not repeat them here. If however, you still want an introduction to trading
1. Type:- "introduction to trading" into either Google or you tube, and then take your pick.
2. From your local library order a copy of:- Timing the financial markets" by Alex Klam. It is short and I found it easy to understand.
4. The professionals use very fast computers to trade in shares nowadays. Against these you standing no chance of making any meaningful profit. By the time you get to hear news that is of any use, it is already old news!
5. From what I have seen, the only ones that make a profit are those people that sell courses to teach you how to trade. They always give the impression, its easy to make a profit trading.
6. Stay away from day trading, that is s certain way to lose money.0 -
On ADVFN there are various adverts for trading platforms
They feature caveats like "76% of retail investors lose money trading on this platform"
Not good odds0 -

And of course, all the 76% started out believing they were members of the 24%!0 -
PS
If "introduction to trading" does not cover what you want,
try typing "Trading for beginners"0 -
try typing "Trading for beginners"
I tried this and was offered the eToro 'Trading Academy' where only 66% of customers lose money. It does irritate me how these companies, who are happy to profit from customer wealth destruction, pretend their trading methods are worthy educational material.

So only 24% manage to break even or better ... in a 10+ year bull market.0 -

Out of curiosity many years ago, I once attended a one hour talk about one such system. The company brought over a salesman from the USA. It was an example of how to sell a system for £5000.
At the end of the talk, many people lined up and appeared to sign up for the course. How many where real customers and how many where fake I of course do know.
If these systems were actually any good, these people would not tell anyone about but use it themselves to become very rich.0 -
For a book on day-trading, I enjoyed the Naked Trader (see Previous MSE Thread) but was never tempted into Trading.
I read the Naked Trader at the same time as I read The Economist Guide to Analysing Companies and would suggest that the latter is the more useful book, but less entertaining.0 -
Beating the market by enough to cover the spread and dealing fees is nigh on impossible if you ask me!0
