I've started a new thread as Doozer girl kindly answered my question.

This is external wall where the plaster has been applied internally and the aerial cable now detached and will be totally removed this weekend0 -

Just to add we have managed to find and cure the rest of the damp, just trying to figure out this bit .0

Getting in between the brickwork and render/painted pebble dash whatever it is ,from above somewhere. And then pooling in between them somewhere where it can't flow out.0
